In 2019, we asked our future readers to submit their ideas for naming our pigeon. After culling through over 5,000 entries, our pigeon was officially named Nellie after iconic American journalist Nellie Bly, who paved the way for women in investigative journalism. Today, our Nellie has a refreshed look—but still carries that same legacy.
